How It Works
Prime Picks FC is a football analysis platform that publishes data-driven match previews and statistical predictions for the world’s top leagues. This page explains how our forecasts are generated and what the numbers on each match preview actually mean.
The Data Foundation
Every prediction starts with raw statistical data from API-Football, an industry-leading provider of football data covering more than 1,000 competitions worldwide. We ingest fixtures, team statistics, head-to-head records, recent form, and historical performance metrics for each upcoming match.
Our Prediction Model
Our proprietary model combines several statistical inputs to estimate the probability of each outcome (home win, draw, away win). The model weighs five key signals:
- Form — recent performance over the last 5-10 matches.
- Attack — goals scored, shot quality, and chance creation.
- Defense — goals conceded, shots faced, and clean-sheet rate.
- Head-to-head — historical results between the two specific teams.
- Poisson distribution — statistical projection of goal-scoring patterns.
Each signal contributes a percentage rating in the Team Comparison table you see on every match preview. The model aggregates these into a final probability distribution.
AI-Assisted Editorial
The statistical numbers are interpreted into a readable preview using a large language model (Claude Sonnet 4.6). The model receives only the structured data produced by our prediction engine plus real-time injury and team-news context retrieved from public sources. It then writes a match preview that explains what the numbers mean, why one side is favored, and what the projected scoreline looks like. Every article is generated with strict editorial guidelines: no gambling vocabulary, no recommendation to wager, no commercial bias.
Transparency
We track the accuracy of every prediction we publish. The Performance page shows our verified track record across competitions, including hit rate, average confidence, and recent results. Football is unpredictable — even the strongest model loses to upsets — and we publish our misses alongside our hits.
What This Site Is Not
Prime Picks FC is not a gambling operator, not a tipster service, and has no affiliation with any sportsbook. We do not give wagering advice. Our content is for informational and entertainment purposes only, intended for football fans, analysts, and curious data enthusiasts.
Languages
The Site is currently published in English and Brazilian Portuguese. Other Portuguese variants and Spanish are under development.
